Grid computing, virtualization, computer utilities - these and other concepts have now converged to give us “the cloud,” an appropriately nebulous name for something still so far from being clearly defined and understood. Yet we know enough to realize that it is not a question of whether we’ll transition to cloud, but when and how. Not that the technology is not robust; it is, and there are many case studies that illustrate the cost savings and other advantages of cloud computing. But there are still many questions that need to be answered about the application space. Ultimately, it will be about managing an enterprise’s knowledge in the cloud. This session we will bring together experts from both the realms of cloud computing and knowledge management to address questions such as:
< How is an agency’s content handled in a cloud?
< What statutory requirements must we concern ourselves with in the cloud?
< Is my knowledge at risk in a cloud?
< Are there inherent vulnerabilities to privacy protection in cloud computing?
