One of the most important requirements of a robust knowledge environment is that it has the capacity to find knowledge, whether tacit or explicit. Most knowledge exploration processes start with a solid search tool and knowledge workers who learn how to use the tool effectively. This session combines elements from the theory of search with a presentation of several leading search tools and a case study of the successful implementation of a search appliance in a federal agency.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
> The difference between search and findability
> The components of a viable findability strategy
> How to plan a workable architecture for integrating internal and external sources
> A case study of enterprise search implementation
