Within the federal government, there is no doubt that the military took a lead role in pioneering knowledge management. In effect, the Army launched its Army Knowledge Management strategy even before 9/11. Now is the time to review what has happened in KM within the DoD, decide what has worked and what hasnÃt, and present the success stories that could serve as models across the services. In this session, KM practitioners from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines present case studies and examples of KM initiatives that work.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
> The challenges, barriers, and successes that underlie KM adoption in a military organiztion.
> Blueprint of a KM approach to achieving large Enterprise KM adoption
> Lessons learned from TRADOCs KM endeavors and their impact on shifting the KM culture within DoD.
> Real world examples of how to capture and re-use knowledge
> How the Air Force uses its AFKN Web 2.0 effort to support mission objectives
