The challenge of workforce turnover and the risk of personal and organizational knowledge loss have grown in importance due to the fact that more than 25% of the working population will reach retirement age by 2010. One of the most important aspects of any KM initiative must be to retain that mission critical knowledge. Several public and private sector enterprises have implemented programs using increasingly effective tools and techniques to address this problem. In addition, because of the potential severity of the issue for the Federal workforce, the Obama Administration is taking certain measures to alleviate the situation.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

 > Knowledge retention approaches in a Federal environment
 > The relationship between knowledge retention and continuity of operation
 > Effective practices for mitigating the risk of knowledge loss
