People are an organization's most important resource - their individual and collective knowledge is the enterprise's greatest asset. This is why most KM practitioners believe that the discipline is mainly about people and less about technology. But there has been less research and work done on the people factor of KM than in other areas. This session will explore how the new Federal workforce must integrate Boomers, Generations X and Y and Traditionalists and how to facilitate continuity of government-related operations (COOP) in the face of this potential knowledge loss due to this workforce age-related demographic and cultural shift. The use of social media and other Web 2.0 technologies will be reviewed in terms of the role they will play in the success of a transition.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
> Understand how the federal brain drain situation impacts the people factor in knowledge environments
> Best practices for essential knowledge transfer programs to the new workforce
> How KM can be used as a resource of inclusion for all 4 generations in the workforce
