Social media is all the rage, and with the White House's issuance of the Open Government Directive, the time is ripe for federal agencies to utilize these tools to improve government effectiveness and strengthen public trust in government. Used effectively, social media tools can strengthen the values that the Directive seeks to further - transparency, participation, and collaboration.
