By their very nature, virtualization technologies convert physical systems to virtual assets. This is great for hardware optimization, but what about security? How do security controls designed to protect physical assets work in a virtual environment? Can applications with different trust levels be collocated on the same physical servers? Does virtualization introduce new security risks? Are there new security features and tools specifically designed for security?

Participants will learn:

  • how to think about how virtualization security is fundamentally different from existing physical security architecture
  • specific security functionality in virtualization technology, how it is used, and who is using it
  • new virtualization security tools and techniques
  • how virtualization security aligns with regulatory compliance
