As the Director of Environmental Sustainability at Akamai Technologies, Nicole oversees the strategy and execution of environmental initiatives across the company, including carbon management, energy efficiency and waste reduction, employee engagement, and customer- and investor-awareness. Prior to this Nicole held positions as senior product manager and principal solutions engineer. She has over thirteen years experience in high-tech communications including sales, marketing and innovative product design, development and management. Along with her expertise in Internet technologies, Nicole has a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Manhattan College, a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Science from Caltech, holds a U.S. Patent, and has a strong personal interest in renewable energy and sustainable technologies. She’s a member of the the GreenBiz Executive Network, Greenhouse Gas Experts Network, the Uptime Institute, the World Economic Forum Energy Efficiency and Standards & Metrics working groups, Hara Inc.
